Praise hands

Acts 20:22–24 (NIV): And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. 23 I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. 24 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

Partner with the Holy Spirit

A). Compels

1 John 5:4 (NIV): This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

Luke 17:33 (NLT): “If you cling to your life, you will lose it, and if you let your life go, you will save it.”

B). Warns

1 Timothy 4:1–2 (NLT): Now the Holy Spirit [warns] us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. 2 These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead.

People are important

2 Timothy 4:3–4 (NIV): For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

Hebrews 12:1 (NLT): Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.

Perspective is everything

Acts 20:24 (NIV): However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

2 Chronicles 16:9 (NLT): The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.

Matthew 25:40 (NLT): “I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!“
