Praise hands

1 Cor.2:13-15 NLT - 13  When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from
human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to
explain spiritual truths. 14  But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s
Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual
can understand what the Spirit means.  15  Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they
themselves cannot be evaluated by others.  16  For, “Who can know the LORD’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?”
But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.

Philippians 2:5 NKJV - “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus”

Three Categories of the Mind

1. Natural Mind

2 Corinthians 4:4 NIV - The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they
cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

2. Carnal Mind

1 Cor. 3:1-3 NKJV - And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to
carnal, as to babes in Christ.  2  I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were
not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able;  3  for you are still carnal. For
where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving
like mere men?

3. Spiritual Mind

1 Cor.2:12 NIV - 12  What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is
from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.

1 Corinthians 2:16 NIV - “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we
have the mind of Christ.

- Our Thoughts Influence Our Actions

Proverbs 23:7 NKJV “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:”

- Our Greatest Battle is The Battle For The Mind

Genesis 3:1 NIV - Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God
had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the
garden’?”

Phil.4:8 NLT - 8  And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what
is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that
are excellent and worthy of praise.

What is True
What is Honorable
What is Right
What is Pure
What is Lovely
What is Admirable
What is Excellent
What is Worthy of Praise

- Set Your Mind

Colossians 3:2 NIV - Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

- Renew Your Mind

Romans 12:2 NLT - Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform
you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for
you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

- Prepare Your Mind

I Peter 1:13 NLT - So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your
hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world.
