Praise hands

Laissez les bons temps rouler
Translation: “let the good times roll.”

Lache pas la patate
Translation: “Don't let go of the potato”

Proverbs 14:12 (ESV)
There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.

Jeremiah 21:8 (ESV)
Thus says the Lord: “Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death.”

Matthew 7:13-14 (NASB)
Jesus said, "The way is broad that leads to destruction [death], and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life..."

Proverbs 16:25 (ESV)
There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death. So, when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate.

Ways that “SEEM” right:

1. The Way of Legalism

Colossians 2:20-23 (NLT)
You have died with Christ, and he has set you free from the spiritual powers of this world. So why do you keep on following the rules of the world, such as, "Don't handle! Don't taste! Don't touch!"? Such rules are mere human teachings about things that deteriorate as we use them. These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, pious self-denial, and severe bodily discipline. But they provide no help in conquering a person's evil desires.

2. The Way of the World

John 15:19 (NLT)
The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.

3. The Way of Performance

Galatians 1:10 (GNT)
Does this sound as if I am trying to win human approval? No indeed! What I want is God's approval! Am I trying to be popular with people? If I were still trying to do so, I would not be a servant of Christ.

4. The Way of Wanting

1 John 2:15-17 (MSG)
Practically everything that goes on in the world—wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important—has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from him. The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out—but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity. Which Way is right?

Proverbs 16:2 (AMP)
All the ways of a man are clean and innocent in his own eyes [and he may see nothing wrong with his actions], But the LORD weighs and examines the motives and intents [of the heart and knows the truth].

1. Evaluate your heart

1 Kings 3:9 (NLT)
Give me an understanding heart so that I can know the difference between right and wrong.

2. God’s word is the “Right” map

Proverbs 16:20 (AMP)
He who pays attention to the word [of God] will find good and blessed (happy, prosperous, to be admired) is he who trusts [confidently] in the LORD.

Hebrews 2:1 (NLT)
So, we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it.

Psalm 112:105 (NLT)
Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path...

Proverbs 30:5 (NLT)
Every word of God proves true.

Matthew 24:35 (ESV)
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

Deuteronomy 5:32 (NLT)
You must be careful to obey all the commands of the Lord your God, following his instructions in every detail.

2 Timothy 1:14 (NLT)
Through the power of the Holy Spirit who lives within us, carefully guard the precious truth that has been entrusted to you.

3. Discernment (*by GPS)

Proverbs 16:10 (AMP)
A divine decision [given by God] is on the lips of the king [as His representative]; His mouth should not be unfaithful or unjust in judgment.

G.P.S. - God Powered Spirit

Exodus 7:16 (NLT)
"Let my people go, so they can worship me in the wilderness."

John 16:13 (AMP)
But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]. For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears [from the Father--the message regarding the Son], and He will disclose to you what is to come [in the future].

4. God’s Grace

Prov. 16:9 (AMP)
A man’s mind plans his way [as he journeys through life], But the LORD directs his steps and establishes them.

Romans 5:17 (TEV)
All who receive God's abundant grace and are freely put right with him will rule in life through Christ.

Titus 2:11-12 (TEV)
For God has revealed his grace for the salvation of all people: That grace instructs us to give up ungodly living and worldly passions and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this world.
